Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions families ask about our services, nannies, and policies. Booking & Services

How far in advance should I book a sitter?
We recommend submitting requests as early as possible, especially for weekends and holidays. However, we often fill same day and last minute requests.
Do you offer same day or last minute bookings?

Yes. Last minute care is available based on sitter availability. Simply submit your request and we’ll notify sitters right away. There will be a $30 rush fee added to your request.

What types of events do you provide childcare for?
We support weddings, corporate functions, conferences, parties, retreats, and more. Whether it’s one child or a large group, we can tailor childcare to your event’s needs.
Can I request the same sitter again?
Absolutely. If they’re available, you’re welcome to request them for future sits.
How do Direct Bookings differ from Job Board bookings?
A Direct Booking sends your request to one sitter only. They can accept or decline.
Can I meet the sitter before my appointment?
Due to the high volume of requests, sitters cannot meet with families in advance. However, you can schedule them to arrive a little early before heading out.
How can I book a sitter?

Booking a sitter with Mollycoddlers is quick and straightforward.

Here’s how it works:

  • Choose the date and time you need care.
  • Create a family account or log in to your existing one.
  • Submit your booking request and double check that all details are correct.
  • If you choose a Direct Booking, your request goes to one sitter only and they’ll either accept or decline.
  • If you post your request to the Job Board, sitters will express interest. You can review their bios and select the best match for your family. Please make your selection within twenty four hours.

Safety & Screening

How are Mollycoddlers sitters vetted?
Every caregiver is interviewed, reference checked, and background screened. We only accept experienced professionals who meet our high standards of care.
What happens if a sitter gets sick or has an emergency?
If your sitter becomes unavailable, we’ll work quickly to find a replacement so your plans can stay on track.

Rates & Fees

How much does a sitter cost?

Rates vary based on the type of booking, the number of children, and the details of the sit. You’ll see the rate before confirming a request. For our nannies, please see our Pay Rates. For sitters, please see our Homecare Pricing Hotel Pricing and Event Care.

Is there a minimum number of hours per booking?

Yes, we have a 4 hour minimum.

How does payment work?
The full amount of the sit will be charged to the credit card on your account. No need to have cash on hand. Sitters do not accept cash, Zelle, or any other direct payments. Tips can be paid directly to your sitter or charged to your credit card. Sitters receive 100% of their tips!

During the Sit

What should I prepare for the sitter before they arrive?
Please leave clear instructions, emergency contacts, house rules, and any needed supplies such as snacks, bedtime routines, or other details.
Can sitters drive children?

Some sitters are able to drive depending on your needs and their comfort level. Please be sure to include on your request if driving is needed.  

Are your sitters comfortable with pets?
Many are. Please be sure to have this information updated in your profile.
What if I’m running late returning home?

Just let your sitter know as soon as possible. Additional time is billed at the same hourly rate.

Agency Policies

What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel any confirmed requests through the app or online directly from your account. You’ll be charged a $30 cancellation fee. If the sit starts within 24 hours you’ll be charged the full amount of the sit.
What areas do you service?
We currently serve families throughout Orange County and Los Angeles for sitting services and all of California for Nanny Placements.
Is Mollycoddlers insured?
Yes. We carry insurance for our agency operations.

Nanny Placements

What’s included in your placement packages?
We offer three placement package options designed to fit a variety of budgets. Each includes candidate sourcing, interviews, reference checks, background screening, and ongoing support.
How does the placement process work?
We start with a phone call to learn your needs. Then we source and present qualified nannies, coordinate interviews, and guide you through hiring. We stay with you through contracts, onboarding, and beyond.
What happens if the nanny isn’t the right fit?
We stand behind our placements. If the match isn’t working, we’ll continue supporting you based on your chosen package to help you find the right fit.
